Essential Guacamole
If you are obsessed with avocados, in general, using them for almost everything you make, and putting guacamole on almost everything you eat, like me, ( hahahahaha π± ), then you will seriously appreciate this recipe. First of all, I need to mention that this is an adapted recipe from Simone Miller of ZenBelly. Simone has figured out a practical and useful trick for all of us avocado lovers to benefit from. I am so happy to be able to share her secret with you.
π₯No Brown Guacamole π₯
Ingredients
π₯π₯π₯π₯ 4 ripe avocados, stone and skin removed
π the juice of 1 lemon
1 onion, diced — — (use this tool for perfect dicing)
π§π§π§π§π§5 drops Lime
π§π§ 2 drops Black Pepper
π§π§ 2 drops Coriander
π§π§π§ 3 drops Cilantro
π§π§ 2 drops Oregano
πΏ(Feel free to use more oily drops than I did, and experiment with other oils, like ginger and basil. I just didn’t want to overdo it, but definitely flavor it to your taste using the essential oils.)
Instructions
OK here is the secret: Dissolve 1/4 cup Himalayan pink sea salt in 3 cups of water. Add the peeled avocados to the salt water, and leave them in it for about 10-15 minutes. Drain the water and transfer the avocados to a clean bowl. In my case, the salt water made the guacamole salty, and I didn’t need to add additional salt to the recipe. I think that the pink salt is saltier than sea salt. My family doesn’t like tomatoes in the guacamole, but if yours does, then GO FOR IT!
This is so easy to make when you have your essential oils on hand. So many times I have had fresh cilantro wilting in the refrigerator, just waiting for the avocados to ripen. It is devastatingly so sad. If you have limes instead of lemons, just replace the lime essential oil drops, with lemon essential oil drops and you are good to go. I love this recipe because it doesn’t require me to have all the fresh herbs on hand. These incredible, edible dΕTERRA essential oils are shelf stable, and they last for years in your kitchen. They are a fast and easy, not to mention healthy, ingredient available to flavor your dishes, the way mother nature intended. Watch this quick video to learn how oregano is nature’s antibiotic.
Next let’s mash the avocados right up. I like to use this kitchen gadget because it works great for having bigger chunks of whatever you are mashing, and is super easy to clean. Serve with the vegan veggie wrap, double baked sweet potatoes, cut up veggies, eggs in a blanket, or just about anything you like.
Thank you Simone for your super suave guacamole trick. It is the best thing that has happened to guacamole, like ever!
