I began using lavender as a sleep aid initially because I am a bit of an insomniac. It definitely did the trick of helping me to fall asleep, and stay asleep through the night.  After my first night of using dōTERRA lavender, I was amazed. Lavender supports my children at bedtime too.  It is so therapeutic and incredible at getting the body to relax and unwind.  When you have restless children , it really does the trick in aiding peace and tranquility to our bedtime rituals.

Additionally,  I’ve  had issues with the back of my left leg for as long as I can remember.  At first I thought it may have something to do with the water irritating my skin with all the chloramine, pesticides, arsenics, fertilizers, and not to mention fluoride content in city municipal water.  After installing shower filters on every shower in our home, my skin irritation problem still didn’t go away.  I remember clearly how much it was itching on my wedding day, and during my pregnancies.  I tried every single oil, cream, lotion, potion, prescription steroid available to me, and while I found temporary relief, nothing seemed to completely rid me of this rash and itchiness on my leg.  It didn’t seem to be a gut issue, I eat a lot of fermented foods, but you never know.  Although in many instances, eczema can definitely be related to a gut disorder.  Recently I began applying lavender neat, meaning without a carrier oil like FCO, onto my skin.  I began to see results immediately.  The morning after my first application, the area seemed less red, and not that itchy anymore.  I kept on applying the lavender oil every day.  Sometimes I would forget, but usually it would be at least one application a day to two applications.  After one week’s time, I saw a dramatic improvement in my skin, and guess what?  NO MORE ITCHINESS!  No more scratching myself until I drew blood. This rash was with me for over 10 years, yes you heard that right, over TEN years, and within a week it was quickly beginning to fade.  Above is a before and after photo of the progress in my skin.. The above “after” photo was taken two weeks after I began the lavender protocol. You can see that I have some scars from years of itching this spot, but I no longer itch, and there is another oil for scarring, called Frankincense.  Currently I am using the Immortelle blend on these scars, and on other scars on my body.  dōTERRA’s Immortelle blend has Frank in it, and a few other skin supporting oils.  It even reduces the appearance of wrinkles! There is an oil for everything!!!   I am amazed and seriously impressed with this powerful plant medicine.  It has truly assisted me in ridding myself of this awful infliction that no other fancy/expensive cream could do. I tried to heal my body from the inside out for many years, and became a bit of a purist with everything I ate and touched. That did not help my rash to go away!  If you too have a skin affliction that you are itching to get rid of, (pun intended),  I HIGHLY recommend that you use the dōTERRA lavender oil to assist and support your healing process.
