Revered by the Maori people for its many invigorating properties, Manuka has been used for centuries in New Zealand for its plethora of health benefits. A pure steam distillation of the potent aromatic compounds found in the flowers, leaves, and stems of the Manuka tree which is part of the myrtle family (same family as tea tree and eucalyptus). You may already recognize the word “manuka” because of Manuka honey, which is from the hives of bees that pollinate the manuka tree’s flowers.

For hundreds of years, Litsea, a plant native to East Asia, has been used by the indigenous people of Taiwan in traditional health practices.Litsea comes from the fruit of the evergreen tree or shrub belonging to the Lauraceae family. The tree bears pale lemon-scented flowers and small fruits that look like little peppers. This is why Litsea is is also known by the name “mountain pepper” in Mandarin. It has many powerful uses and benefits
Litsea is chemically similar to Melissa. It is known as the ‘oil of tranquility’ and is known for its powerful effect in promoting relaxation and mental calm. Historically this oil is blended with almond oil and used to aromatize the body prior to meditation or prayer in order to impart a sense of strength, calm and mental clarity.

- Energizing + refreshing – diffuse or wear on aroma jewelry to uplift mood
- Take 1-2 drops internally in your water for the antioxidant support for your cells. It also promotes the health of the cardiovascular, immune + respiratory system. Adding a drop to your water will also help maintain a healthy nervous system.
- Apply topically by adding a drop to your face cream to keep skin clean and clear. Can also be uses as a spot treatment on blemishes.
- Litsea blends well in the diffuser with Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Frankincense, or Cedarwood.
